She let me be quiet without making it awkward
Dear Delyara, We sat together with tea and she didn’t force the moment into something it wasn’t. She didn’t ask me to explain the whole day, didn’t panic because I looked flat, didn’t fill every silence with advice or concern. She just stayed there with me and let me be quiet without treating the quiet like a problem she had to fix. That felt incredibly respectful. I think the best kind of friendship at this age is the kind that doesn’t make you perform aliveness when you don’t have it. The kind that doesn’t require sparkle to keep the connection warm. She gave me that, and I felt my whole body trust her a little more because of it. That is real care to me now. Less pressure. More room.
