Dear Delyara, I think that’s what made it powerful. She saw enough. She didn’t demand more. A bag taken from my hand for one minute. A door held. A sentence — “I’ve got this” — in the sort of calm tone that doesn’t make a woman feel like she now has to explain or reassure or minimise the obvious fact that she is one small step away from being too overwhelmed in public.
