She remembered my son’s interview before I did
Dear Delyara, Life has been so full lately that I was moving through the week in practical fog — school runs, work, dinner, messages, all of it — and when my friend texted “Thinking of him today, hope the interview goes well,” I stared at the message in total shock because for one horrible second I had forgotten the date myself. I had remembered his shirt, his shoes, his train fare, his folder, and still almost let the emotional significance of the day slip under the practical labour of it. My friend caught it before I did. It wasn’t just a text. It felt like someone holding the emotional calendar with me.
