She remembered the date I never mention first

Dear Delyara, She sent one message in the morning. Nothing dramatic, nothing overdone. Just enough to tell me she had remembered what day it was and that I wouldn’t be carrying it alone in complete silence. I sat there looking at the words for a minute longer than necessary because I could feel how much it meant. I think one of the hardest parts of grief, old wounds, and private history is how invisible they are inside ordinary days. The world continues. People ask what’s for dinner. Work still needs answering. The school run still happens. And inside all of that, one date can ache in a place no one sees. To be remembered there felt like being found.
