She remembered the date I was dreading
Dear Delyara, She didn’t write anything long. She just sent a message in the morning that said, “I know today is hard. I’m thinking of you.” That was it. No emotional homework attached, no demand for a reply, no pressure to explain how I was carrying the day. Just proof that someone had remembered without being prompted. I think so much loneliness in adulthood comes from carrying meaningful dates privately while the world keeps moving. To be remembered there — at the exact point where the day is difficult and everyone else acts normal — feels like being found. I needed that badly. She got the timing exactly right.
