Sitting in a Completely Clean Flat and Realizing the Maintenance is Done

Dear Delyara, I spent five hours today deep-cleaning my apartment—scrubbing the grout in the bathroom, washing the windows until the gray light came through clearly, and wiping down every single wooden surface with lavender oil. At 6:00 PM, I put the cleaning materials away, lit a single beeswax candle on the sideboard, and sat on the sofa in the total quiet. The flat looks beautiful, it smells immaculate, and there isn't a single uncompleted chore looming over my head. For a person who has spent months feeling like their life was an unraveled ball of string, sitting in a space that is completely ordered and peaceful feels like an absolute sanctuary. I have built a safe, clean harbor for my mind, and tonight I am completely content to just sit here and rest.
