Small Courage

Dear Delyara, I made the phone call. It took me three days to do something that probably takes most people three minutes. I rehearsed what I would say. I wrote it down. I deleted it. I paced the room. I nearly gave up twice. But I did it. The call was not perfect. My voice shook. I forgot one of the points I wanted to make. My heart was racing so loudly I could barely hear the other person. Still, I did it. Sometimes people think courage is grand. But often it is just this: doing the thing while terrified.
