Social Anxiety & Fear of Judgment
For the past few years, every time I enter a group, it feels as if my heart is about to burst out of my chest. My breathing becomes loud, and I become hyper-aware of every movement I make, as if everyone is watching, waiting for me to make a mistake or say something foolish. In class, when it’s my turn to answer a question, my hands tremble and my voice shakes—even when I know the answer. I want to speak, but fear stands in front of me like a tall, unbreakable wall. Even in friendly gatherings, I remain mostly silent because I don’t want to be noticed or judged. I feel like an actor, constantly playing a role that isn’t truly me. This anxiety has taken so much from me—opportunities, friendships, and the chance to truly live. Sometimes, I wish there was someone who could understand this fear and help me feel free. Perhaps writing this letter is my first step toward understanding myself and breaking free from these invisible chains.
