Some evenings I feel emotionally single inside a marriage

Dear Delyara, We can be in the same house, in the same room, doing the same ordinary evening, and still I can feel that the deeper part of me is carrying itself alone. Not because he is cruel. Not because there is no love left. Because practical partnership and emotional companionship are not always the same thing, and some seasons reveal that gap more sharply than others. What makes it lonelier is how normal it looks from outside. There are no obvious scenes to point to. Just an absence in the place where I most want to be met. I think that is one of the saddest adult experiences — being visibly accompanied and inwardly solitary at the same time.
