The BondFriendship

Some friendships leave me feeling managed instead of met

Dear Delyara, The messages are still kind, technically. The check-ins still happen. But somewhere along the line the interaction starts feeling more curated than alive. More correctly handled than warmly inhabited. I can feel myself adjusting too — choosing safer subjects, reducing my size, keeping things easier. That is not the feeling of friendship I want. I don’t need constant intensity. I do need to not feel slightly choreographed inside the connection.
