Some numbers still feel like moral judgment in disguise

Dear Delyara, I want that to stop being true. But right now, some numbers still seem to come with character attached — as if they are not only facts but verdicts. Good, bad, disciplined, irresponsible, ahead, behind, safe, failing. They enter with too much meaning and too much speed. That moral charge makes money harder to face than it should be. Because I am never only facing the numbers. I am facing what my nervous system has learned to attach to them. And that attachment is heavy.
