Someone carried the heavy bag without making me feel weak for letting them

Dear Delyara, That kind of kindness stays with me. Not only because of the help itself, but because of the tone around it. No pity, no show, no “look at me helping,” no making me feel smaller so the help can feel bigger. Just ease. There is something deeply restorative about help that doesn’t injure dignity on the way in. I felt that this week. And I’m grateful for it.
