Someone is using my face to speak online

Dear Delyara, Three weeks ago, a coworker sent me a video of myself saying things I never said. The face was mine, the voice almost mine, but the words were racist and cruel. Someone created it and posted it anonymously. My employer has suspended me while they investigate. My parents watched the video before I could explain. My father asked whether there was “any truth in it,” as if I might have secretly recorded myself destroying my own life. I have reported the accounts, contacted a lawyer, and saved screenshots, but copies keep appearing. Strangers send threats. A woman found my home address and posted it beneath the video. Every time my phone lights up, I feel my body prepare for another version of me I cannot control. People say the technology is convincing. That sentence frightens me more than the threats. I have spent thirty-six years building a reputation one real conversation at a time. Someone built another version of me in an afternoon, and she is louder, angrier, and more believable to strangers than I am.
