Someone Let Me Go First
Dear Delyara, I was overwhelmed today in a way no one could see, and then a stranger did something tiny: they let me go first. Queue, doorway, elevator — it doesn’t matter now. What mattered was the gentleness of the gesture. The lack of friction. The brief feeling that the world had not asked one more thing of me in that moment. Small kindnesses land differently when you are carrying too much. They don’t stay small.
