Someone Let Me Keep My Dignity

Dear Delyara, The kindest thing anyone did for me recently was small, practical, and almost invisible. They helped me in a moment of embarrassment without making the embarrassment bigger. They didn’t dramatize it, witness it too loudly, or turn it into a scene of pity. They just helped. That kind of kindness stays with me because it did more than solve a problem. It protected my dignity while doing so.
