Someone noticed I needed less pressure, not more attention

Dear Delyara, That distinction meant so much. I was a little overloaded, and a person responded in exactly the right way — not by making a scene of my tiredness, not by over-focusing on it, but by lowering the pressure around me. Fewer demands in their tone, gentler pacing, less expectation in the moment. It felt so intelligent. And so kind. I think some of the best care is not what gets added. It’s what gets reduced around you when someone sees you clearly enough.
