Somewhere, I stopped feeling connected to where I was going

Dear Delyara, I don’t think I lost the path in one dramatic event. I think I just stopped feeling connected to it slowly. One practical decision at a time. One compromise at a time. One year becoming the next. One bit of emotional detachment accepted as normal until I looked up and realized I had movement but not much meaning. That is frightening in a very adult way.
