Speaking Plain English to a Corporate Board

Dear Delyara, I participated in the regional roster review today, a meeting that is usually completely dominated by empty corporate jargon—"synergy," "optimization," and "resource management"—phrases designed specifically to hide the human cost of the shift schedules. When it was my turn to report on the night-shift fatigue, I deliberately refused to use their vocabulary. I spoke in plain, direct English: "The current rotation leaves the guards with exactly five hours of broken sleep between shifts. It is dangerous, and it is destroying their health." The silence in the room was absolute, but I didn't back down. I finally used my voice to protect real people.
