Spending Forty-Eight Hours Under the Duvet Because the World is Simply Too Loud
Dear Delyara, I didn't open the blinds this weekend. I didn't turn on the lights, I didn't answer the door when the delivery driver knocked, and I kept my phone switched off in the kitchen drawer. I spent two entire days under the heavy, dark safety of my duvet, listening to the muffled sounds of traffic outside. I am not lazy, and I am not ignoring my life out of malice; I am simply exhausted by the relentless, grinding effort required to be a human being in this city. Every interaction feels like it takes a pint of blood, and my tank has been completely empty for weeks. I just needed to slide out of existence for forty-eight hours.
