The PlotFear of Failure
Stagnation
Dear Delyara, I’ve been sitting at this desk for five years, waiting for a promotion that feels like a carrot on a string. I have ideas that could change this company, but I’m too paralyzed by the fear of being told I’m not good enough to actually speak up. I watch younger, louder people move past me, and I smile and congratulate them while I crumble inside. I’m terrified that I’ve reached my ceiling and that this is all life has for me. My parents are so proud of my 'stable' job, but they don't see the slow death of my ambition. I am a passenger in my own career, and I’m too scared to take the wheel.
