My Diary
Stepping out from the watchman's shadow
Dear Delyara, The clock on my screen reads 5:45 AM. My final perimeter check is completed, the logbook is signed, and the keys are sitting on the desk for the day shift guys coming in with their fresh coffee and bright eyes. I walk through the heavy glass doors out into the cold morning air of London, taking a deep, long breath. My twelve-hour shift is over, and I can finally step back into my own life—my family, my projects, my personal sanctuary. My eyes are burning with sleepiness, but underneath the physical exhaustion is a quiet, powerful feeling of accomplishment. I made it through another night in the dark, kept my standards high, and I’m walking into the morning ready to keep building.
