My Diary

The bin bag split on the way to the outside bin and I almost laughed from rage

Dear Delyara, Tea leaves, pasta water sludge, eggshells, an empty yogurt pot, all of it dropped in one ugly wet patch by the back door. I just stared at it for a second with that feeling where anger and disbelief become nearly the same thing. I wasn’t furious about rubbish. I was exhausted by the timing of one more stupid small problem. That’s what gets me some days. Not disaster. Badly timed inconvenience. The kind that arrives when you are already at the edge of your useful patience and asks you to be one more responsible adult in one more unpleasant little moment. I cleaned it up. Then I stood there with the new bag in my hand and thought, this is exactly what this week feels like.
