The Body’s Peace Treaty
Dear Delyara, My body and I have been at war for a long time. I hated it for its limits, for its pain, and for its failures to be "perfect." I treated it like a broken machine that I just wanted to replace. But tonight, I realized this body is the only home I’ll ever have. It has carried me through every heartbreak and every storm. It is tired, but it is still here. I wrote a letter of apology to my own skin and bones. I am stopping the fight. I am learning to listen to the whispers of my fatigue instead of shouting over them. We are going to heal together, at whatever pace we need. No rush. No shame. Just the steady rhythm of a heart that refuses to quit.
