The Broken Plastic Loop on the Tag

Dear Delyara, The tiny plastic loop holding the price tag to my new scarf snapped while it was still in the shopping bag, leaving a sharp, transparent needle of plastic embedded deep within the wool fibers. When I pulled the scarf around my neck this morning, the sharp point scratched right across my collarbone, drawing a thin line of red. I spent five minutes in front of the mirror with tweezers trying to fish the clear plastic out of the weave. It’s a tiny, invisible hazard left behind by a manufacturing line, a small sting hidden inside something meant to keep you warm.
