The Broken Plastic Tooth on the Comb

Dear Delyara, A single black tooth snapped off my pocket comb this morning while I was running it through my hair, leaving an ugly, wide gap right in the middle of the row. It changes the entire balance of the tool; every time I pull it through, it leaves a slight, uneven ridge in the strands that reminds my scalp of the missing piece. It’s an absurdly small thing to notice, but it broke my morning routine completely. We expect our personal objects to remain permanent and reliable, so when a tiny piece of cheap plastic gives up, it feels like a small betrayal that sets an uncomfortable tone for the rest of the day.
