Small JoysQuiet Moments
The children were out, the kettle boiled, and nobody interrupted the first sip
Dear Delyara, Those are the moments I want to keep better. Not because they are dramatic. Because they are so easy to lose. The house was empty for forty minutes. I made tea, stood by the window, and drank the first few sips while they were still properly hot. No one calling my name, no message, no practical need opening itself in the middle of the moment. Just me, the steam, and the ordinary miracle of not being entered. I think there is more healing in these small unbroken minutes than we give them credit for.
