The City Fox

Dear Delyara, I saw a fox tonight. He was skinny, with a tail that looked like a frayed rope, but he carried himself like he owned the entire street. We stood ten feet apart, staring at each other under a flickering streetlight. He didn't look scared; he looked bored. Like he’s seen a thousand people like me come and go while he stays the same. I felt a weird connection to him—two creatures just trying to find a way through the dark without making too much noise.
