My Diary
The City’s Heartbeat
Dear Delyara, I walked across the Millennium Bridge tonight. The wind was biting, pulling at my coat, but the view of St. Paul’s Cathedral was so steady and ancient that it made me feel solid again. Sometimes the city feels like it’s trying to swallow me whole—too many people, too much noise, too much pressure to be "someone." But tonight, looking at the dark water of the Thames, I realized the river has been flowing long before my problems existed and will be flowing long after they are gone. I felt small, and for once, that felt like a relief.
