My Diary

The Coffee Shop Stranger

Dear Delyara, I watched an old man in the cafe today. He sat with a single espresso and a handwritten notebook for nearly two hours. He didn't look at a phone once. He just watched the steam rise and occasionally scribbled a single word. I felt a pang of intense envy. When was the last time I sat still long enough to let a thought finish itself? I’ve become so addicted to the "scroll" that my own mind feels like a radio tuned to static. Tomorrow, I’m leaving my phone at home.
