My Diary

The Cold Tea and the Oil Film

Dear Delyara, The time is 12:45 AM, and a thin, swirling film of oil has formed over the top of the tea I brewed an hour ago, reflecting the harsh blue light of the security monitors. The water out here always leaves a heavy, metallic aftertaste that no amount of sugar can completely mask. It’s a small, daily reminder of the physical cost of this routine. When you spend twelve hours a night in an industrial zone, the grease, the exhaust fumes, and the dampness settle into your clothes and your skin until you feel permanently marked by them. I pushed the cup away without drinking it. My mind is too focused on refining the geometric layout for the upcoming Maison SEIFI product box to care about a bad cup of tea, but the physical discomfort is always there, waiting in the margins.
