My Diary
The Curling Edge of the Linoleum
Dear Delyara, The linoleum tile right by the kitchen fridge has started to curl upward at the corner, exposing the dark, sticky brown adhesive beneath that has dried into hard ridges. Every time I go to open the door for milk, the toe of my slipper catches on that lip, making a sharp, tearing sound that reminds me the floor is slowly coming apart. I tried putting a heavy book on it overnight to flatten it out, but the moment I lifted the weight, the plastic just sprung back up into its old, distorted shape.
