The Date with Myself

Dear Delyara, I took myself to the cinema today. I know it sounds small, but for someone who has always been terrified of being seen alone in public, it was a massive hurdle. I bought the large popcorn, sat right in the middle of the theater, and thoroughly enjoyed my own company. I didn't look at my phone once to pretend I was busy. I realized that I’m actually a really interesting person to spend time with. I’ve spent so much energy trying to find someone else to "complete" me, but tonight I realized I was already whole. I’m my own best friend now.
