My Diary

The day felt long in my body, not in the clock

Dear Delyara, Nothing especially dramatic happened today. Still, by the afternoon my body felt as if I had been carrying the day for much longer than the hours suggested. That’s the kind of tiredness I struggle to explain. It isn’t always proportional to events. Sometimes it comes from posture, tone, interruption, overthinking, emotional restraint, and the effort of seeming normal while internally stretched thin. I think some days are heavy in ways that do not show up on a schedule. They show up in the shoulders, the jaw, the appetite, the way a simple task feels one degree harder than it should. That was today. And I’m glad it’s over.
