The day felt too close to my skin

Dear Delyara, Everything felt too close today. People’s voices. Work demands. A comment that normally wouldn’t bother me. Traffic. Noise. Even my own thoughts. I don’t know how else to explain it except to say I felt emotionally skinless. Like everything was landing directly on me without the usual layer of protection in between. Nothing huge happened. And still, the day exhausted me. I wish “overstimulated” sounded as serious as it sometimes feels.
