My Diary
The day felt too crowded by 11 a.m. and never recovered after that
Dear Delyara, You know those days where you can tell unusually early that the emotional maths isn’t going to work? That was today. Too many notifications before breakfast. One awkward work exchange. My daughter crying over something tiny and total. The neighbour catching me as I was trying to leave. The delivery man arriving early. Then a call from my mother at exactly the wrong moment. By 11 a.m. I knew the day had already entered me too far. Nothing catastrophic happened after that. That’s what made it harder, somehow. I still had to keep moving through all the normal things while privately aware that I was working from a reduced emotional budget all afternoon. Those are the days I find hardest. Not crisis days. Overfull days.
