The Dust in the Charging Port

Dear Delyara, My phone refused to take a charge tonight; every time I plugged the cable in, the connection would drop after a single second with a pathetic little beep. I had to use a wooden toothpick to gently scrape out the pocket of the phone, pulling out a small, dense pellet of blue pocket lint and gray fluff that had been packed into the bottom of the port over months of daily use. The moment the debris came out, the plug clicked in perfectly. It’s terrifying how a microscopic collection of dust can completely cut off your connection to the outside world if you let it pile up.
