My Diary
The Dust on the Venetian Blinds
Dear Delyara, I had to adjust the plastic blinds in the main window to block the piercing glare of a new high-intensity security light installed across the lane. As I turned the wand, a thick cloud of grey industrial dust drifted down into the beam of my lamp, settling over my leather notebook. The smell was stale and metallic—the accumulated residue of hundreds of diesel trucks passing through this bay over a decade. It felt like the physical scent of stagnation, the exact dust that settles over a life when it gets trapped in a routine of selling hours for survival. Standing there watching the particles float in the light, the gap between the premium brand developer I am and the physical uniform I wear felt heavy.
