The Empty Park Bench

Dear Delyara, I sat on a bench in the park for an hour today and just watched the dogs play. No phone, no book. I noticed a small carving on the wood near my hand: "A + M 1988." I wondered if A and M are still together. Did they stay in love, or are they just names on a piece of wood now? I think we leave pieces of ourselves everywhere without realizing it.
