The End of the War
Dear Delyara, I watch my daughter sleep and I realize that the war ends with me. She will never know the sound of a voice used as a weapon. She will never learn how to hide in a closet or how to read the mood of a room by the way a key turns in a lock. My trauma was a heavy price, but her peace of mind is the greatest victory I will ever win.
