My Diary
The Errand
Dear Delyara, I went out only for milk and came back an hour later with milk, bread, batteries, glue sticks, paracetamol, bananas, and a birthday card. That is how it always happens. The errand is never the errand. The mind starts collecting needs from every corner of the house and every member of the family before you even reach the checkout. When I got home, my husband said, “Did you manage to get the milk?” I know he meant nothing by it, but I could have laughed and screamed at the same time. Yes, I got the milk. And six other forms of survival.
