The evening air interrupted the spiral
Dear Delyara, I was thinking myself into a smaller and smaller emotional room today until I went outside. Cold air. Trees. Sky. A little movement. No one asking anything. And suddenly the thought loop lost some of its authority. That’s what I love about being outside when I’m overwhelmed. It doesn’t argue with me. It doesn’t solve the problem. It just reminds me there is a world bigger than the one my thoughts are trying to build around me. That interruption is often enough to save the evening.
