The Exhaustion That a Night of Sleep Can Do Absolutely Nothing to Fix
Dear Delyara, I slept for nine hours last night, but when my alarm went off at 6:30 AM, my limbs still felt like they were entirely encased in lead and my brain was wrapped in a thick fog. This isn't normal tiredness from physical exertion; it’s a deep, structural exhaustion that has settled into the very marrow of my bones. It’s the fatigue of constant masking, constant worrying, and the relentless, daily effort required to maintain a life that doesn't actually fit me. I am so tired of being reliable. I am so tired of showing up, meeting targets, and keeping my voice calm. I feel like an engine that has been run without oil for three years, and I am terrified that the whole machine is about to permanently seize up.
