The SilenceLoneliness
The Ghost at the Dinner Table
Dear Delyara, I went out with "the group" tonight. We sat in a loud, expensive restaurant, and I laughed at all the right times. But as I sat there, I felt like I was fading away. I looked at the people I’ve known for years and realized they don't know a single real thing about me. They know my job title, they know my favorite drink, but they don't know that I haven't slept more than four hours a night for a month. I’m surrounded by people, and yet I’ve never felt more abandoned. I came home and sat in the dark for an hour just to see if I still existed.
