The Goals Feel Distant Even When They’re Mine

Dear Delyara, I still have goals. I just don’t feel them as clearly as I used to. It’s like they are technically still there, but behind glass. I can see them. I can name them. I can even talk about them if someone asks. But I don’t feel that old connection to them — that sharp sense of direction that used to make movement easier. Maybe I’m tired. Maybe I’m scared. Maybe I’ve changed. Maybe I’ve confused exhaustion with lack of desire. I don’t know. That’s what makes it unsettling.
