The house felt too quiet tonight

Dear Delyara, The house felt too quiet tonight in a way that wasn’t peaceful. Usually I don’t mind silence. Sometimes I even need it. But tonight it felt like absence. One cup. One plate. One pair of shoes by the door. One person moving from room to room with no witness except herself. I’m fine being alone much of the time. That’s true. But some nights I don’t want to be the only person hearing the small details of my life happen.
