My Diary
The kitchen was loud and I could feel myself going cold
Dear Delyara, The children were talking over each other, the television was on in the next room, someone dropped a spoon, my husband was asking me something practical, and the kettle had just started boiling. No one was doing anything wrong. It was just too much sound arriving in one body that had already taken enough for one day. I could feel it happening in real time. The part of me that stays warm in the evening was going offline. My answers got shorter. My face changed. I started moving around the room like everything was slightly in my way. That is when I know I need to step back, because the next stage of tiredness in me is unfairness.
