The Late-Life Career
Dear Delyara, I was at the 'Crossroads' at sixty-five—retire and fade away, or start the bakery I always dreamed of. The 'Grind' of the startup was physically exhausting. My 'Circle' told me I was too old for the 'Fire' of a new business. I spent many nights wondering if they were right. But my Victoria is the smell of fresh bread every morning and the teenagers who come in to learn from me. The victory is proving that the 'Shadow' of age is an illusion. I am more alive now than I was at thirty.
