The Mask of Success

Dear Delyara, I spent the day in meetings, smiling and nodding, playing the part of the 'ambitious entrepreneur' perfectly. No one in that room saw the way my hands were shaking under the table or the way I had to hide in the bathroom for ten minutes just to catch my breath. We are all such talented actors, performing our lives for an audience that is also just pretending. My diary is the only place where I can admit that I’m terrified of being found out. I am successful by every metric the world uses, yet I feel like a fraud who is one mistake away from ruin.
