The Midnight Email

Dear Delyara, It’s 1:00 AM and I’m replying to an email from a boss who doesn't know my middle name. If I don't reply now, I’ll be anxious all night. If I do reply, I’m teaching him that he owns my time. I’m trapped in a cycle of needing the job to pay the bills and hating the job because it’s taking my life. I look at my children sleeping and I feel guilty because I’m more worried about a spreadsheet than I am about the fact that they are growing up without me.
