The New Boundary

Dear Delyara, My mom called today to criticize my life choices. Usually, I would spend an hour defending myself. Today, I just said, "I’m not willing to discuss this with you. I have to go now." And I hung up. I didn't shake. I didn't cry. I just went back to my tea. I’m finally an adult in my own life.
